If you don't know what format of cine film you have, it is very likely to be Super 8 or Standard 8mm.

How to Order
If you cannot make it into our shop simply post your cine film to us - don't forget to include your instructions, address and telephone number. On receipt of your work we will call you, confirm your instructions, and take payment by credit card over the phone.
MP4 and AVI Digital Files
Choose MP4 for convenient playback and sharing, or AVI when you need a compatible file for further editing. Files can be supplied on a suitable USB drive or external hard drive. Storage requirements vary, so we will confirm them before work begins.
Image sequence files are also available for advanced users at 50% extra
Optional restoration service
AI enhancement for 8mm and Super 8
Suitable footage can be enhanced after scanning to improve detail, reduce grain and noise, stabilise movement, correct colour and exposure, and reduce flicker or limited surface marks. HD or 4K upscaling may also be possible where the source supports it.
Results depend on the original film: AI cannot recreate information that was never recorded or has completely faded.
Extra DVDs
A scratch or scuff can make a DVD difficult to play, so we recommend keeping a second copy or a digital-file backup.
Cine Film with Sound
Most amateur cine film comes without sound. However, if you see a magnetic brown stripe running down the edge of the film there maybe sound on the film. This really only applies to reels sizes 200ft and above. There is no extra charge for cine film with sound.
We can also add easy listening background music to silent cine film transfers at very affordable prices.
Cleaning
Cleaning is not always required, but it can help us obtain the best result from dusty or marked cine film. We assess the film first and discuss any charge before proceeding.

Super8/8mm Identification
Regular 8mm film has sprocket holes which are larger and almost square, whereas the holes in Super 8mm are elongated and smaller.
Cine film with sound has a distinctive copper coloured stripe running along the edge of the film.
